Baby Activity Center Options

Before you rush out and buy a baby activity center then you will want to make sure that you know what your baby activity center options are. There are three main options for anyone looking for a baby activity center or an activity table. Two of them are fairly common and well known, at least once you think about it, and one is pretty exciting and offers the best of both worlds.

The first option is the activity center with a seat in the middle. Most people think of the Exersaucer right away, but this is just one brand name and many other companies offer baby activity centers with seats in the middle. These are like walkers, but they are stationary with a saucer shaped base. They are great and kids can start using them at about four months of age. However, they are the fastest option to outgrow.

The baby activity table is the next option. This often has a base and allows kids to pull up to it. If you buy a standard one then they have to be nearing walking age in order to use it. Most kids can use it between 9 and 12 months and then will use it for a year or two. The cool thing here is that your child will use it longer and may even enjoy on into the late toddler, early preschool years.

The final option combines the advantages of each. It has a seat that attaches and moves around the table allowing your young child of four to six months to use it. When your child outgrows the seat it can be removed and the rest of it can be used as an activity table.

If you can, the best option seems to be the baby activity center with the seat that moves around the base. However, most of these are more expensive and you will want to make sure you are choosing a good one. Baby activity tables are now available in different forms so that younger children can start enjoying them as well.
