Most of holidaymakers look upon Cap d’Agde as a beach resort wher they can enjoy their favorite sports or lounge around the pool, but visitors that return every year to the resort are also aware of the various wonderful events organized by local tourist board. A number of different cultural, sporting, musical, and other unusual events are hosted every month.

This year in May, a two-day fantastic visual presentation of the city’s 2600 year history was presented by the community of the ancient city of Agde France to visitors. Agde has one of the most impressive heritages. The city owes its origin to the ancient Greeks and the celebrations marked its journey through various changing times. Ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, the Vikings, the Renaissance, the French Revolution, the 18th century, and much more played a part in the history of the city, and this was shown in the presentation of the two day program over the weekend.

Over 650 historical presentations were presented on the streets and squares which enabled the viewer to know the history of the city from one age to another. The presentation was made attractive and impressive with the help of song, dances and drama, and even choreographed battles. And people who wanted to get involved as visitors hired historical costumes to wear during the presentation to fit right in.

With the serving of gourmet foods and wine tasting all over the city at numerous stalls, visitors definitely didn’t go hungry or thirsty! Even children liked the events such as discovering what camp life was like during the time of the Vikings.

This type of events makes Cap d’Agde much more than just a beach resort. So, if you wish to return back home from a holiday visit with more than the sweet memories of sand and sea, you should definitely consider visiting Cap d’Agde France which has so much more to offer.
