How to Deal with Blackheads

Having blackheads is a common problem that is usually associated with oily skin.  While it you can encounter blackheads with normal skin as well, one of the key factors for their formation are overactive oil glands.  When oil from the skin mixes with various substances that might include dead skin cells or dirt, the result is the blackheads you see on your face.  The reason why they are darker in appearance is because of oxidation that happens when exposed to open air.  But all of this scientific stuff probably doesn’t matter if you simply just want to get rid of this problem.  Blackheads can be extremely embarrassing, especially when they are abundant and noticeable.

One option that people choose is trying to get rid of blackheads by squeezing them out.  If you are going to do this you should make sure that your face and hands are washed thoroughly first.  Then moisten the area and gently guide the blackhead out using a little bit of pressure.  It should come out quite handily and you can then apply some topical acne cream to the area.

Another thing people find quite convenient is pore strips.  These handy little strips fit over the affected area and you can get rid of your blackheads with one single swipe.  The adhesive nature will rip out your blackheads quite handily, just as if you are taking off a band aid.

The important thing to remember with these two methods is that they are only temporary solutions.  You can also make things worse because you will ultimately be aggravating your skin.  You might find that oil production increases in the area and you may have more blackheads in the future.  When it comes to dealing with how to get rid of acne, sometimes there is no simple solution there will get results immediately.  You may have to take a complete approach that incorporates cream and antibiotics to deal with the problem in an effective manner.
