Inspire Yourself

Categorized: Uncategorized | No comments

Most Americans work too many hours, between the day job, work at home, maybe a second job to try and make ends meet and then family needs as well. They all add up to a lot of hours or work, not many hours of sleep and it can all result in a low level of despondency if not depression.

Finding inspiration in our daily lives can be tough. Everyone seems to be rushing around and seeing what they can get for themselves. Our politicians and even our religious leaders are doing things that are reprehensible if not out right illegal.

The only place you can find inspiration is within yourself. You are in charge of what you watch on TV, the channel you play on your radio and the papers you read. If you don’t want to read a depressing part of the paper, just turn the page or rip out the offending section and throw it away.

If you have someone around you who is always saying negative things and dragging you and others down into their own pit of despair, stop seeing them. You are in charge of your own time and your own relationships. Don’t spend your time with people who bring you down and make you anxious, don’t read things that will depress you.

Look for things that inspire you and build your love of life up, not tear it down. Find some wild flowers and make yourself a beautiful bunch of them. Print out copies of inspiring speeches and poems , footprints in the sand is a favorite, put them by the side of your bed and read them before you fall asleep then again before work.

If you can fill your day with inspirational pictures and words, then you will feel more upbeat and happy. There is a old saying that we become what we think, if you think positive things then you will experience positive things in your life.

He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the Lord, and
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets
of footprints in the sand,
One belonged to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before them,
He looked back at the footprints in the sand,
He noticed that many times
along the path of his life,
There was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and
he questioned the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
You would walk with me all the way,
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
There is only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why in times when
I needed you most, you should leave me.”
The Lord replied, “My precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you.”Margaret Fishback Powers
