Not All Foot Fungus Infections Are Easy To Treat
Categorized: health | 1 comment
There are two main types of foot fungus. One affects the skin between the toenails and is known as Athletes foot. The other affects the nails and is known as nail fungus infection or Onychomycosis. Both are very common, affecting millions of Americans each year.
When it comes to treatment, Athletes foot is far easier to treat. This is due to the simple fact that the fungus is relatively exposed on the surface of the skin and open to treatment. You’ll notice a wide range of antifungal creams and ointments in any decent sized pharmacy and these are very effective in getting rid of the fungus.
Unfortunately if the fungus invades the nail to cause Onychomycosis, treatment is far harder and takes much longer. This is because the fungus is normally located in a ‘subungal position’ – it lies underneath the nail and is protected by layers of hard keratin protein. It’s far harder for a topical treatment to penetrate the nail to reach the fungus and destroy it.
So sufferers of nail fungus infections have to be persistent and stick to a regular treatment routine over many months. There are a number of popular nail lacquers designed specifically to treat nail fungus, see the Funginix review over at Fungus Facts for more information. It’s a good idea to scrape away or ‘debride’ the surface layers of the nail above the fungus before each application to help the treatment reach the fungus.
Oral medications are also available on prescription. Again treatment can take many weeks and there is a real concern of side effects and in particular liver damage. If your doctor prescribes an oral medication, he or she will normally also advise a series of blood toxicity tests throughout the course of the treatment to ensure that you are not at risk of liver damage or related side effects.

Nail fungus is tough to treat because it has a cozy home under your nail. It’s hard to get medication to reach the fungus. The fungus is protected by your nail, and it’s warm, and moist under there. Those are perfect growing conditions for a plant. A plant? Yes, fungus is a plant, not a virus or bacteria. It grows like a mushroom or moss. And, just like getting dandelions out of your lawn, nail fungus is hard to get rid of. Obviously, you can’t spray herbicide on your feet or hands! The next best thing is Zetaclear Anti fungal Solution. It’s made from all-natural oils derived from plants. People try creams and lotions, and the doctor can give you pills to take, but the results are “iffy.” That’s why we offer you Zetaclear. These oils not only work on the fungus, but also smooth and soften your skin with each application. The combination of Lavender, lemongrass oil, and clove oils give Zetaclear a delightful fragrance without any medicinal smell. The fragrance is not a sweet “girly” scent, but one men like as much as women. It smells clean and natural. |
